RECOMMENDATIONS

“It’s a New Day is a book that points to the hope and healing that are possible after the devastation of abuse. Many people who have been through abuse walk through varied struggles, sometimes without realizing how deeply those struggles are connected to past trauma in their life. It’s a New Day is a resource that points people to God and the healing that he brings as we work through the lies and distorted mindsets that were set into place through the abuse. No matter how dark and hopeless life may currently seem, there is hope in God for a better life ahead.”

— Kelly Nelson, Survivor

“Laurie’s compassion for others is something that pours through her writing. When reading through, It’s a New Day, I felt my heart wrapped in love. It is undeniably written through years of spending time and listening to the hearts of survivors. As an advocate working with survivors for the past 13 years, I can see Laurie thought through every word while being mindful of the needs of survivors. Each step guides people at a gentle pace, bringing hope and healing. Spending time with Laurie, I have truly felt the heart of Jesus. With her guidance, I personally have experienced healing with freedom and without judgment. This allowed me to grow and become all that God created me to be.”

— Eileen Cruz, Author and Survivor Advocate

“It’s a New Day covers many aspects of the healing journey from childhood trauma. Many of the women we work with have suffered significant childhood trauma which created a vulnerability to being victimized through human trafficking. I have no doubt that anyone with trauma to heal from will feel it is written just for them.  Many of the comments we have heard over the years, Laurie has tuned into and addressed in It’s a New Day. Thank you for such a wonderful tool to help with the healing journey and understanding God’s perspective set in His word.”

— Deanne Lawson, Executive Director and Founder of Inner Beauty Center

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
